Teaching Arabic to non-native can be challenging especially with tiny humans as it's frustrating to find an activity that has it all!
This is how I thought shapes to my preschoolers.
Student instructions:
1- Watch the video and sing along with me.
2- Listen to the story and repeat after me (My Very First Book of Shapes by Eric Carle).
3- Go on a "scavenger hunt" around your room/house searching for shapes. 4- Take a picture of the shape. 5- Upload it to your journal. 6- Record yourself naming the shape in Arabic. You can add as many pictures as you want. Just make sure not to spend more that 45 minutes on this activity!
Students will go on a "scavenger hunt" around the room searching for shapes. Aside from identifying the shapes, the main goal of this lesson is to talk about and practice naming shapes in Arabic.
Happy learning,
Chaimae Bigoula
